The Barcelona International Jazz Festival is one of the longest running events in Europe.
This year it takes place 18 Oct - 6 Dec 2009.

Usually this event take places in autumn. Since the heat of the summer is gone and there are less tourists it's perfect time to visit the city.
The music comes in a wide variety of styles, from big bands and bebop to gospel and Latin jazz, consistently attracting a great line-up of international performers.

- Dianne Reeves
- Charlie Haden's Quartet West
- Bela Fleck
- Harry Connick Jr and Sangam featuring Charles Lloyd
- Zakir Hussian

The program of the festival is very ambitious, includes various memorials regarding history of jazz, numerous concerts and a lot of jazz master classes and workshops.
